Today was a regular day in the office. Animal Friends cancelled this week so we didn’t have that segment of the day to look forward to. A lot of contest winners needed to be called today so we did that for most of the day. We also had to enter them into the database. The days have been getting longer because we are full swing in the the summer and there are more events and contests we have to promote and enter and call more winners for our 92 Days of Summer segment! I wrote up a post today about a promo and contest we are doing with the TLC show Outdaughtered and then Wyatt and I brainstormed what to write for 92 Days of Summer and 4th of July Throwback Week Facebook posts. We try to find funny GIFs for these kind of posts because people like GIFs more then regular pictures. We signed our email of these posts to Vicki with Smidge and Smudge because she loves calling us that, because we come in together and leave together and do most of our remotes together. She told us she loved and and she thought it was so funny. Later in the day I saw they used the photos I took a few weeks earlier for one of the 92 Days of Summer promo cards that we use on the website.

Today we had our Market Square concert series. We set up our Bob tent this week and then helped put up some banners around Market Square. The band was still setting up when I noticed a bunch of police officers were coming into Market Square. We always set our tent up closest to Dunkin Donuts so I turned to see what the officers were running to and low and behold Nicholas’ Coffee was on fire again. Someone in the salon up top opened the window and about 5 minutes after that, 6 firetrucks, 2 ambulance, 12 cop cars, and one Red Cross van came into Market Square, all before the band had finished setting up. They evacuated that whole corner from Dunkin to the Greek place, and we were so confused but were excited because we saw a KDKA cameraman recording both the band and the tent. I didn’t watch the segment later, since I always work right after Market Square at Hello Bistro, but the cameraman recorded us a lot. A lot of people came up to us because of this and filled out contest sheets for our enter to win we had this week, which was tickets to Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The band, Ray Lanich Band, gave out lots of support to the officers and firefighters who were fighting the fire behind us. Everyone cleared out by the time the band was done, and we packed up the tent, table and plinko board and were finished for the day.
